Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Department Head, the engineer will participate in several projects by designing the electrical components of automated machines and equipment.

Responsabilities

• Lead the electrical design of projects in collaboration with designers and draftsmen
• Guide team members in technical choices and design directions
• Ensure compliance with standards
• Conduct technical reviews with project team members to ensure quality and multidisciplinary consistency
• Define technical solutions and adapt them during the project
• Supervise electrical integration in multidisciplinary systems
• Contribute to electromechanical meetings
• Perform calculations, sizing, and validation
• Check and approve engineering drawings
• Conduct cost studies and analyses
• Take measurements
• Write technical documents (operation manuals, specifications, reports)
• Perform pre-delivery checks in the workshop
• Site supervision
• Participate in establishing design standards and implementing them
• Actively contribute to the deployment of quality control and assurance processes
• Propose continuous improvement initiatives related to departmental and company processes
• Contribute to best practices in project management
• Participate in Research and Development processes
• Perform any other related tasks

Required Skills

•  Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (member of the OIQ);
•  3–7 years of experience;
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical;
• Strong ability to solve technical problems;
• Knowledge of CSA C22.2 standards is an asset;
• Knowledge of UL and CE standards is an asset;
• Knowledge of the aluminum and industrial sectors is an asset;
• Experience with an equipment manufacturer is an asset;
• Ability to work within a project team in an international context;
• Due to an international client base, professional proficiency in English is required.
